Submit to Gremlin Creative
Gremlin Creative is a multimedia literary journal founded to publish works of fiction. We thrive on the power of storytelling, and the wonderful, hard-working, imaginative, classy, dynamic, inspiring, passionate, beautiful, smart, powerful, strong, adventurous, and ambitious humans who are bravely mad enough to make a thing.
We showcase fictional work, including (but definitely not limited to) short stories, poetry, photo narratives, novellas, novel chapters, micro fiction, sketches, artwork, webcomics, audio dramas, short films, web series, hybrids, and experimental work from new and established artists.
Gremlin Creative uses the wide, wide, world wide web as a way to push the boundaries as to what a literary journal can be.
We ask that you read our Submission Guidelines below before submitting for all information on formatting, word lengths, and other policies.
Compensation: At this moment, we are unable to pay creators for having published work on Gremlin Creative. This will, without a doubt, change in the future as the website garners a bigger following and expands its premium services. We are working on a number of ways to bring in revenue to compensate the brilliant artists and storytellers who contribute to Gremlin Creative.
For the time being, publication with Gremlin Creative includes the opportunity to promote your work of fiction, and connect with other storytellers. All work will have a link to the creator’s profile in the byline, which contains information such as a biography, and links to blogs, websites, and/or social media channels.
Submissions: There is no submission fee to Gremlin Creative, nor do we charge a fee if it is published. A submission does not guarantee you publishing on Gremlin Creative. By submitting to Gremlin Creative, you guarantee that you are the owner of the copyright to that work. We also do not require a transfer of copyright. All we ask is that no other literary, publish, or production company holds exclusive rights to your work.
We accept simultaneous and multiple submissions. As soon as your work is accepted or rejected, feel free to send us another.

Micro Fiction: 500 to 2,000 words.
Short Story: 2,000 to 15,000 words.
Novella: 15,000 to 40,000 words.
Serialization of a Novel: Please send the first chapter and a one-page synopsis of the book.
Poetry: You can submit up to five poems at once. We accept submissions of all poetic forms and genres.
One-Act Play: Up to 15,000 words.
Sketch/Artwork: Your work must be completely original and creator owned. You can submit up to five at once. Please submit a high-resolution (300 dpi) file.
Webcomic: Your work must be completely original and creator owned. Webcomics can be submitted as a single panel, strip, or ongoing series. Please submit a high-resolution (300 dpi) file.
Narrative Audio Short Story/Poetry: Up to thirty minutes long.
Audio Drama: Please submit the pilot episode first. Up to thirty minutes long.
Serialization of Audiobook: Please submit the first chapter only. Up to thirty minutes long.
Short Film: Up to thirty minutes long.
Web Series: Please submit the pilot episode first. Up to thirty minutes long.
Hybrids/Experimental: We don’t restrict storytellers by limiting works to traditional formats. If a piece is in a different format than any listed above, feel free to submit.
What We’re Not Looking For:
While we are open to a variety ideas, perspectives, mediums, structures, and tones, we have some restrictions, too.
Non-Fiction: Essays, Biographies, Memoirs, Photography, Travelogues, Creative nonfiction, Documentaries, Journalism, Thesis papers, and the like.
Fanfiction: Our mission is to showcase wholly original works. We don’t want work with already established, popular settings and characters.
Excessive Gore and/or Violence: Don’t be excessive just to be excessive. Gore and violence is fine if there’s a reason.
Excessive Sex and/or Porn: Sex scenes are perfectly fine, as are nudity and other adult themes. Again, we are asking for a reasoning behind it.
Hate speech, and other work that is overtly offensive to any race, religion, sect, nationality, culture, gender, and sexual orientation.
